About WBL

Work-Based Learning provides students with opportunities for instruction in both academic and occupational skills, career exploration, and guidance identifying employment and educational goals.
Students have the opportunity to connect what they learn in school with work-site application to enable a smooth transition into the work force and/or education beyond high school.
Work-Based Learning increases student motivation by showing the relevance between school and work, provides opportunities to explore possible career fields, helps to develop workplace responsibility, positive attitudes and work habits, and encourages the pursuit of education after high school.
Work-Based Learning students are required to participate in several activities throughout the school year to ensure they are prepared for life after high school. These activities include: Job Shadowing, Business and Industry Tours, Job Fairs, Professional Workshops/Training, College Tours, Mock Interviews, Career Fairs/Days, and hear from a variety of Guest Speakers.
The Work-Based Learning Coordinator will work closely with each Work-Based Learning student to ensure they have a plan in place for the next step of their educational/career journey.
