Course Requirements
Over the period of one school year (on a trimester basis), students complete three rigorous courses:
- Industry Fundamentals and Occupational Safety
- Introduction to Construction
- Carpentry I
Certifications*
Students enrolled in the Carpentry pathway have the opportunity to earn six technical college credits (*) through articulation, as well as industry recognized certifications:
- OSHA 10 Certification
- NCCER Core Certification
- NCCER Certification--Carpentry Level I
*Grade of C or better is required and successful completion of NCCER Carpentry Level 1 Certification exam. Technical College credit will be given for the following courses: - CARP 1000--Fundamentals of Carpentry Skills--2 credits
- COFC 1080--Construction Trades Core--4 credits
