Course Requirements

Over the period of one school year (on a trimester basis), students complete three rigorous courses:

  • Industry Fundamentals and Occupational Safety 
  • Introduction to Construction
  • Carpentry I

Certifications*

Students enrolled in the Carpentry pathway have the opportunity to earn six technical college credits (*) through articulation, as well as industry recognized certifications:

  • OSHA 10 Certification
  • NCCER Core Certification
  • NCCER Certification--Carpentry Level I
    *Grade of C or better is required and successful completion of NCCER Carpentry Level 1 Certification exam.  Technical College credit will be given for the following courses:
  • CARP 1000--Fundamentals of Carpentry Skills--2 credits
  • COFC 1080--Construction Trades Core--4 credits
